Behind The Stone

I finally found my love. The love I'd been searching for. When I finally stopped searching it came knocking on my door. I finally found what I'd been searching for.
I found a sunbathing beauty. That's all I saw at first. A Corona-drinking cutie waiting to quench my thirst. That's all I saw at first.
But now I see so much more. Someone far beyond desire. A truly golden-hearted girl. The more I know, more I admire.
I see brains behind the beauty.
I see tears behind the stone.
I see love in every corner when I have you in my home.
I see the tears behind the stone.
I see a person so full of passion.
I see how dreams can come true.
I see a future shining so brightly my dear
'cause I see me in love with you.
I see me in love with you.

Dream Girls

Back in the day i always wanted there to be
a real life career opportunity. Locked in the Target all night, only her and me. Skating and riding fiberglass ponies.
Or trapped underground, seeking treasure through clues. We'll find the rich stuff with the help of slick shoes. Alongside that girl with beauty so rare. Her fragile voice and fiery hair.
Maybe then I'd find a boat along the shore.
With a beautiful brunette, take a 3-hour tour.
Or have a date with an angel, and cater to her wing.
Hear my eternal flame and the beauty as she sings.
In every corner of the room you'll see a fox on the wall.
And if the moment's right, you'll see her untamed heart crawl.
Let's make a reservation to be a party of five.
Dream a little dream to keep the dream alive.
If i could find the genie of miracle beach,
these worlds would all be wishes within my reach. I spent too many years seeking these ideals. Only thing i learned was how loneliness feels.
But then somehow i found a genie who actually exists. We're married and in love, and it's everything I wished.

Cry baby cry
yer blues
I want to tell you
love you too
I've got a feeling
we can work it out
I need you
in my life
Long, long, long
goodnight
I will
get back
the inner light
I'm only sleeping
because
I'm so tired
She's leaving home
Good morning, good morning
Yes it is
for no one
Something
she said, she said
all you need is love
Let it be
yesterday
Tomorrow never knows

The Doctor Is In
01:55

Can't explain what comes over me.
Might seem ferocious. They don't see
behind this gate, just can't wait.
Be with them. New found friends.
Flash a smile, try to break the ice.
Any sign of tolerance would suffice.
But no instead, they shake their heads.
Turn away an angry red.
If they'd give me a chance, I know I'd earn their trust. But from their fearful stance, I know this things a bust. I just can't help myself. I do it every time.
I can't stop myself from loving all mankind.
Now there's a knock at the door.
Rushing back, I search the floor.
There's no toys. I'm overjoyed
so my smile releases a frothy void.
I couldn't help myself. I tried so hard this time.
I couldn't stop myself. Wish I could just rewind
and have another chance to make things go right.
But from their hateful glance I doubt tonight's the night.
I know that more will come.
Some will stay. Some will run.
I'll shake it off, fling the froth.
Watch them leave with saliva sleeves.
Part of me will stick with them.
I'll be stuck with criticism.
It's nothing new. I'm rubber you're glue.
Don't make me shake no matter what you do.

Branches on the family tree can hold deep-rooted memories.
They'll outlive the fallen leaves.
The strongest limb always provides foliage to help us hide.
Allow us growth under its shade.
Just out of reach and unafraid.
I close my eyes and dream a dream.
A reoccurring theme.
Reliving days gone by.
The scars of life can all be healed by the sweater with the wagon wheel.
Halfway down and on the right, the only house lit up all night.
You can enter anytime.
Inside you'll find a lively scene of music and photography,
and games to play on screens and boards, and dogs who pray for their rewards.
I close my eyes and dream again of how it all began. Sheltered with your love.
All my fears could be concealed by the sweater with the wagon wheel.
I close my eyes and dream once more how life had been before.
The flood of memories.
The safest place I'll ever feel.
The sweater with the wagon wheel.

It's Been A While
03:16
|
|||
It's been a while, still you make me smile.
Can't be denied, I still can't divide from you.
It's been a dream. The kind not often seen.
No one I know knows love like me and you.
Please promise you'll take care my love, in hazardous terrain. Steer safely down the path that you're upon. Watch when stepping footloose on the candy-coated rain.
I'll do the same. Please come home to me. Come home to me. Come home to me.
It's been a while, across so many miles.
Walked hand in hand through sand and lava stone. It's been a blast reflecting on the past.
Point Pleasant sun, the fun we had and how we've grown.
Step inside now baby and take off those painful shoes. Put pajamas and the tea kettle on. You get the red microphone, and I'll take the blue and sing to you…..as you sing to me. Sing to me. Sing to me. Sing to me.
Please sing to me.

No Talent Blues
02:26
|

I got nobody listenin' to me
'cause I got no talent and I sing out of key.
I ain't got no talent. That's what I said.
Anyone listenin' would be better off dead.
You better hide, I got them no talent blues.
I went down to the crossroads. Tried to sell my soul. But the devil heard me playin' and crawled back in his hole.
I ain't got no talent. My songs sound profane.
Betcha wish somehow I'd get hit by a train.
No such luck. I got them no talent blues.
Now you know I got no talent. I can't play a song. Unless you're countin' this one, but I'm playin' it wrong. I ain't got no talent. Ain't no lie. My songs are only good for makin' small children cry. You've been warned. I got them no talent blues.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. He had fuzzy wuzzy hair. Technically you'd call it fur. But technically he was a her. He was a transgender bear, living without a care. He wore things you'd never dare.
Then one day it got rough. The townsfolk had seen enough. They shaved off all Fuzzy's fluff.
Burned his clothes and stole his stuff. He was a transgender bear. Tried to live without a care,
but found it hard to keep his flare.
So Fuzzy moved away, down to the shore. He was bald, he was tired and he was poor. He
drank cheap gin with a honey grin and slept on the floor. But was he really Fuzzy anymore?
He was a transgender bear, once again without a care. He still wore things you'd never dare.
Because he lost all his…fur.

The Professor

You look at me with big brown eyes and see
just what you came looking for.
Your ears are long as you listen to your song. And you'd like to hear some more.
You want someone to look at you when you're playing peek-a-boo underneath the bed.
But that smiling face of yours always seems to get ignored when you rest your head.
You're fast asleep, listening to me speak.
Clutching your eyes closed real tight.
Resting your face on a checkered pillow case
makes the whole world black and white.
You want someone to notice you. Someone who will comfort you when you're insecure.
Lying there and staring through iron gates of emptiness. Waiting by the door.
Waiting. Time ticks by so slow when it's watched through tear-stained eyes.
You looked at me with big brown eyes and see.

things are not what they appear
why i cry
bitter tears
memories of love
o! what a dream it was
smoke and mirrors
the desperate things you made me do
the things we did and didn't do
I don't want to get over you
my only friend
scream and run away
some summer day
i can't touch you anymore
I think i need a new heart
I don't know what to say
long-forgotten fairytale
one April day
when you were my baby
infinitely late at night
walk a lonely road
always already gone
as you turn to go
you're my only home
I'll dream alone
the saddest story ever told
hopeless
lonely days
digging my own grave
till the bitter end
forever and a day
